Sage Kotsenburg is an undeniable talent. At the tender age of sixteen, Sage won the 2009/10 Winter Dew Tour overall title in Slopestyle. With incredible consistency and a level of technical ability that goes far beyond his years, Sage’s dizzying yet controlled slopestyle runs put the entire snowboarding world on high alert. And that was last year. He is learning and progressing at an almost frightening pace. When you can spin and flip every trick under the sun, pushing progression means adding on corks, spins, and in Sage’s case, lots of style. So how does he do it? Well, he’s been shredding the terrain at Utah’s Park City Resort since he was just 5 years old, and lucky for him, he’s got a shred family. He grew up riding with his older brother Blaze, and younger sister Kirra, with his dad acting as the ringleader often filming and travelling to contests, to support his sensational son. Sage kicked off the 2011 season by stomping the world’s first competitive Cab 1440 Double Cork at the Billabong Air & Style. And now that high school is wrapping up, Sage can put 100% into his riding and when that happens, you better just stand back and watch the show.
