Crutchlow Excels; Espargaró victorious at Spanish GP

Casey Stoner (Honda) beat Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) and Dani Pedrosa (Honda) to win the Spanish Grand Prix on a partly wet track in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The same three riders had been on the podium in the season-opener in Qatar and could dominate the season. Who, the trio was asked, were the riders most likely to join the battle at the front? Without hesitation they agreed on two names, and one in particular.

Monster Turns on the Bright Lights at the Qatar MotoGP

The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team ushered in the 1000cc era of MotoGP racing with a fair, but furious asphalt balletthat had the fans in the stands in the Qatari desert FULLY focused for the entire 22 lap affair. And when it was over, second year rider Cal Crutchlow had completed the most successful weekend of his grand prix career after a thrilling race-long battle with new teammate Andrea Dovizioso in the opening grand prix of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship in Doha, Qatar.

Valentino Rossi switched from bike to Rally car over the weekend at the Monza Rally Show and didn´t lose an ounce of class along the way. Monster Energy had a film crew down there to follow Valentino and the rest of his team through an awesome weekend.

Über Valentino

He is simply, ‘The Doctor’ for how he operates and calmly slices up the competition. The most dominating rider of his generation on the fastest motorcycles on the planet in nothing less than the most competitive, high-speed, high-tech series in world, Moto GP.  He owned the crown from 2001-20015, and incredibly came back to win it again in 2008.  Born in Urbino, Italy on 16th February 1979, his enthusiasm and drive remains undimmed, having already signed with Yamaha for 2009 and 2010.

 

He continues to have the support of his long-standing Crew Chief, Jeremy Burgess, who moved from Honda to work with him at Yamaha Factory Racing in 2004. One of the most popular members of the paddock, ‘The Doctor has a wide fan base which makes him one of the most popular athletes all over the world. He is a keen supporter of Inter Milan football club and also an accomplished rally driver, having finished 12th in the British round of the World Rally Championship last December. Expect more history in the making from this living legend.
