Over Tommy

As Great Britain’s most successful Grand Prix racer this century, Tommy Searle returns to Europe with unfinished business in 2011. An injury-plagued venture to the USA for the last two seasons means that Searle will be gunning for brighter results in the AMA West Coast Lites series at the beginning of ‘11 and then heading back over the pond to try and snare the FIM MX2 World Championship that he jostled for in 2008.

A really inventive racer who seems to dictate his own lines and batters opponents with unrelenting raw speed, Searle is an automatic bet for Grand Prix wins to add to the six triumphs accumulated in ’07 and ’08. He arrived on the scene as a sixteen year old with a massive dose of talent and a load of hype. Searle immediately boosted his creds with a debut podium appearance in his rookie season and then went on to add ten trophies in 2007 and another eleven the following year. His American venture was hampered by a troublesome shoulder but his readmission to the MX2 GP ranks – with CLS Kawasaki, the brand with which he initially starred in 2006 – is another shot in the arm for the FIM contest and means that Monster Energy will be well represented in this category.
