A propos de Kyle

Monster: WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

Kyle Beaton: Surrey. BC

M: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN RIDING?

KB: 16 years

M: WHAT AGE DID YOU TURN PRO?

KB: 14

M: HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE THE DEFENDING ARENA CROSS CHAMPION?

KB: It was good, felt good to win it again. I like wearing number 1 that’s for sure

M: AFTER MANY YEARS OF COMPETING AGAINST KAWASAKI, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO JOIN THEIR TEAM?

KB: Feels good you know, I think change is a good thing, it has been great working with the crew and they have made me feel like I’m a part of the family

M: WHAT MADE YOU SWITCH TEAMS?

KB: Um I think I came to a point in my career that I needed to re-light the fire and make a change.

M: YOU HAVE QUITE A FEW ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN YOUR CAREER, NOW THAT THE CANADAIN ARENACROSS IS DONE, WHAT IS YOUR PLAN?

KB: Head south to race the Supercross series and gain some experience to come back and win a Championship.

M: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE 2011 SEASON?

KB: Heading down to California. I will be down there for 4 months. Basically until the nationals start. I just received word that I will be able to train on the Kawasaki test track in LA, so I am pretty excited.

M: HAVE YOU MADE ANY CHANGES IN YOUR TRAINING PROGRAM?

KB: I am in the midst of that right now, with my trainer Drew Robertson from Evolved MX. I am going to go down to Cali and start riding and basically just take it from there. I will be doing a lot of cardio and then try and figure out my weaknesses and then try and strengthen them.

M: AFTER BATTLING THROUGH INJURIES THE PAST FEW YEARS, WHAT HAS MOTIVATED YOU TO COME BACK AND RACE FOR THE 2011 SEASON?

KB: I still believe in myself and having people around me that believe in me is important. The fact that some people have counted me out due to some injuries motivates me to prove them wrong. In the end I love the sport of Motocross.

M: NOW THAT MONSTER ENERGY IS TITLE SPONSOR OF MONTREAL SUPERCROSS, AND YOU WON IT TWO YEARS AGO, DO YOU FEEL ANY PRESSURE TO WIN IT THIS YEAR?

KB: I guess I have to (win). (Laughs) Well that’s the plan.

M: YOU HAVE BEEN RIDING THE 250 CC CLASS FOR MANY YEARS NOW. HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT SWITCHING IT UP AND TAKING ON THE BIG BIKE?

KB: Yea for sure, it definitely is a place I want to end up. Before that happens I think I have to go back to the drawing board with my trainer and put on some weight. There are still things I want to accomplish in the light class before I make the jump.

M: WHO HAS BEEN YOU MOTOCROSS MENTOR?

KB: I would have to say my dad, he use to race back in the day and has always been there for me. He never has been mad at me for crashing or doing bad. Super supportive and I think that’s what every racer needs.
