Sancho was born alongside a deep water trench known as the the Gouf de Capbreton in the early 80´s. The ferociousness of these local waves soon left the young Sancho with a hunger for wave power, hollow surf and whitewater punishment beatings. While his buddies put on coloured lycra singlets and paddled out to surf contests for points, money and ratings, Sancho always preferred to drift up the way and score big barrels with nobody around, and promptly chose the path of a free surfer. Sure, chasing thick swells may entail a few lickings from time to time, like getting his front teeth knocked out on the coral at Lance´s in the Mentawais as a teen, but Sancho prefers bleeding to 2ft sloppy beach-breaks.

These days, Sancho has established himself as one of the leading freesurfers in the world, dedicating his time and resources to chasing down swells, getting the best shots, clips and most of all, getting spat out of barrels. Based in SW France for the autumn and prime local surf season, the rest of the year he spends time between second homes in the Canaries, Bali, Tahiti and at the table of King Neptune having apperos with the leading citizens of Atlantis. Sancho holds no driving license and tends to wake up fresh after a long roadie, ready to paddle out. He also likes to dance reggaeton, and sometimes sports a goatee
