Lukas Mechura was born on the 17th of February 1987 in Ústí nad Labem, Czech republic. When he

was 6 years old, he started with BMX racing, led by his dad. In 1993 he hit his first international race in Netherlands, which was also his first World Championships in BMX and took the 6th place.

He had been racing for home team Ústí nad Labem. The team was made by over a 20 BMXers. After few years, the riders one by one escaped from BMX and Lukas stayed in the team alone just with his younger brother Michael. About year 1999 the Town destroyed the BMX track and Lukas had to start training in the Prague, that is about 90 kilometres far from his hometown.

Even after these troubles Lukas kept going and soon it paid off. He has got over 10 titles of Czech Champion in few disciplines and so many final positions in Europeans and Worlds BMX races.

In 2004 Lukas started racing also Fourcross. Lukas is enjoying  racing 4X a lot and feels more confident in this discipline. Fourcross is also much more interesting for sponsors than BMX, because there exists better propagation in media.

Lukas went through few good teams. He started in BMX Olympus team from CZE, then he was in US Rock Machine Racing Team and finally he settled in United Kingdom´s Chain Reaction Cycles Team managed by  Downhill legend from UK - Nigel Page.
