About Eiki

From the frozen flatlands of Iceland comes the street smart Eiki Helgason. At 22, he’s the older half of a dynamic duo—the soon-to-be-legendary Helgason brothers. Throughout his years on the come-up, Eiki split his time between schooling at a Swedish snowboard academy and riding back at home on the barren tundra of his native Iceland. This variable mix of transition training complimented by months of handrail and street riding has made Eiki into a formidable foe on any terrain.  As the first decade of the 2000s came to a close, Eiki’s progressive, technical abilities on rails put him squarely at the forefront of a new generation of street killers. With his skate-influenced approach to rails and a sharp focus on proper style, Eiki has helped pushed street progression. At the same time, his jumping skills have not suffered. He’s been known to pop corks, too. His closer part in the 2008 film No Right Way, stamped Eiki’s name on the international map. Since then he’s punished pillows in the B.C. backcountry, hit handrails in Hokkaido, and explored the depths of Eastern Europe on the hunt for untouched street terrain. In addition to his headwear brand Hoppipolla, Eiki has just launched another brand with his brother Halldór—a new snowboard company called Lobster.
