About Keith

In the mid-June of this summer, 2004 and 2006 CORR Stock Truck Champion and two-time Borg-Warner World Champion (2005 and 2006) Keith Steele of Madison, Wisconsin rolled into the World Center of Short-Course off-road racing for the Forrest County Potowatumi Brush Run in Crandon, Wisconsin. Looking to gain more Midwest real estate in his goal to become the 2008 WSORR World Series SRT Division National Champion, Steele drove his 4,200-pound, 600 horsepower 410-cubic inch-motivated #229 Monster Energy Chevrolet Silverado to back to back wins and took control of the title fight with an iron fist.

More race wins at Bark River, Michigan in mid-July, Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 26-27 and Bark River again in mid-August put him far out front in the land rush for the 2008 WSORR title and only reaffirmed his dominance in the high-profile series. Set to wrap up over Labor Day weekend, it looks like all systems go for Steel and his black and electric green Monster Energy-festooned Chevrolet. When the native of America’s Dairy Land isn’t pelting is competitors with baseball-size rocks and huge clods of dirt spit from the rear tires of his Chevy, Steele likes to hang out with his wife Izzi and son Max and spin some AC/DC, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Johnny Cash through his iPod.
