Monster Energy rider Eugene Laverty scored his second podium finish in a row with a hard-fought third place finish in the lone shortened World Superbike race at the fabled Monza circuit nearly Milan, Italy.

The World Superbike Championship began its European swing by entertaining a weekend crowd of over 81,000 at the famed Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit in Imola, Italy. And the Monster Energy riders showed they were happy to be home by scoring points as the heart of the season began.

Monster Energy rider Sam Lowes defied the odds by coming within half a second of winning the World Supersport race in Imola, Italy, hounding the race winner to the flag and proving himself a worthy championship contender.

The 2012 season of the Brazilian SuperBike Series kicked off on Sunday March 11th at the World famous Interlagos track with the Mobil Pirelli SuperBike Event.
